BJ Davis, Principal, is a mission-driven executive leader and consultant with more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, executive search, and social justice advocacy. She has built a career advancing justice, strengthening organizations, and guiding leaders and teams to achieve transformational impact. Most recently, she served as an Executive Search and Strategy Consultant with DRiWaterstone Human Capital, leading executive searches across associations, nonprofits, and research-focused organizations, while also providing governance, leadership development, and succession planning support.

BJ has twice served as an Executive Director and is the co-founder of two nonprofits, including the Orange County Equality Coalition, which played a key role in grassroots advocacy for marriage equality in Southern California. She has held senior fundraising leadership roles with organizations such as the Hetrick-Martin Institute, DigDeep, and Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, collectively securing tens of millions in philanthropic support to expand inclusion and drive meaningful change.

A queer, neurodivergent leader, BJ brings a deeply intersectional lens to her work, combining lived experience with strategic insight to help organizations achieve lasting impact. Guided by her top CliftonStrengths—Connectedness, Activator, Individualization, Maximizer, and Strategic—she leads with a style that is relational, catalytic, and results-oriented. BJ partners with mission-driven organizations and leaders to clarify priorities, strengthen alignment, and grow high-performing teams, drawing on her strength of Connectedness to build trust, foster collaboration, and connect people and purpose for greater impact.

BJ has served on numerous boards, including Above the Stigma, the Santa Fe Green Chamber of Commerce, the Zona del Sol Youth Consortium, and The Peace Center. She is a trainer and facilitator on topics such as inclusive leadership, strengths-based fundraising, board development, and organizational alignment.

She and her partner recently relocated from Newport Beach, California, to her family farm in Max Meadows, Virginia, where they live with a beloved family of rescue animals, including four new ducklings.

BJ holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Vermont and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Radford University.
