Carmel Napolitano, Principal, is a recognized leader in retained executive search for the nonprofit sector, bringing more than two decades of experience and a network that spans local, national, and global organizations.

Carmel began her career in the University of Pennsylvania’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations before serving as Director of Prospect Information and Stewardship at Temple University. She later transitioned to professional services for nonprofits as Director of Research Services and Special Projects at CCS Fundraising, Inc., an international fundraising consulting firm, where she advised national and international clients on development research, prospect management, and the execution of development audits and feasibility studies.

Since entering executive search in 2003, Carmel has led senior-level leadership searches across advocacy, arts and culture, economic development, education, environmental organizations, global health, human services, and other mission-driven sectors. Her placements include leadership roles at organizations such as the American University of Paris; Scouting America – Greater New York Council; GOOD Plus Foundation; Providence College; Seoul Foreign School; Friends Seminary; the University of Pennsylvania; Stevens Institute of Technology; Union Square Partnership; the Better Business Bureau of Metro New York; Muso Health; Posse Foundation; NPower; Ownership Works; the University of Southern California’s Shoah Foundation; Friends of the Domaine de Chantilly; and Hudson County Community College, among others.

Deeply committed to the nonprofit community, Carmel brings firsthand knowledge of board service and governance to her work. She currently serves on the National Advisory Committee of Women of Color in Fundraising and Development (WOC) and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater New York Chapter (2018–2025) and Women in Development New York (2012–2018).

Carmel is a former lead instructor for the New York Junior League’s Nonprofit Board Clearinghouse course and currently serves on the boards of the Angelica Patient Assistance Program and Dance to Unite. She is also an alumni volunteer with PennPAC, providing pro bono consulting services to nonprofit organizations through the University of Pennsylvania.

Carmel earned her undergraduate degree from Villanova University and holds a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
