Kim Farr serves as a Search Consultant with Aspen Leadership Group, where she develops outreach strategies to build and refine candidate pools and establishes enduring relationships with ALG candidates in the process.

Kim has worked in the field of advancement for more than 20 years. Her expertise includes annual giving, prospect research management and analysis, stewardship, and development writing. Most recently she served as development officer for foundation relations at Clark Atlanta University, a historically Black institution and the nation’s first to award graduate degrees to African Americans.

Kim has worked on multiple fundraising campaigns throughout her time in philanthropy. At Year Up as Manager of Institutional Giving, her work with foundation donors generated most of the dollars raised in excess of the $5.25M campaign goal and expanded the program by fifty percent. As the Senior Research Analyst at Spelman College, she led the prospect research team that completed the groundwork for the College’s historic, $157M campaign, which tripled financial support for students, increased investment in faculty and academic programs, and provided capital improvements to campus infrastructure.

Kim has also served as Director of Annual Programs at Grady Health Foundation and Director of Research & Grants at EARTH University Foundation. Her career began at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA as manager of the annual fund calling program.

Prior to her time as a development officer, Kim spent a decade working in advancement operations. She began doing prospect research at Georgia State University and continued working in the research discipline in various capacities throughout her career. Kim served three terms on the board of the Georgia Chapter of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA-GA), and a single term as a member of the Ethics Committee at APRA International.

Kim has earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential. She remains active in the profession through her memberships with the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP), African American Development Officers (AADO) Network and the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. She is a graduate of Leadership Clayton, the United Way of Greater Atlanta Volunteer Involvement Program and a member of the Junior League of Atlanta.

Kim holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tennessee State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
