Marianna DiVietro has 13 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and a decade of experience as an independent career consultant. Throughout her career, Marianna has blended her passions for working with donors and supporting fundraisers to positively impact nonprofit organizations and their missions.
Marianna most recently served as the Director of Organizational Development and Engagement with Denver Zoological Foundation, where she led the organization in designing and implementing a new performance management system and engagement strategies that exceeded staff satisfaction metrics. Prior to her time in human resources, she served as the Director of Development at Denver Zoo, overseeing planned and major giving, annual giving, and events, securing transformational gifts and more than doubling the size of the organization’s donor pipeline.
During her time at the University of Colorado Denver, Marianna served as a member of the Advancement leadership team and provided philanthropic support for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, College of Arts & Media, School of Public Affairs, and the Alumni Board. These roles afforded her the opportunity to work in lockstep with deans, faculty, and donors to advance scholarship, research, creativity, and community relations in downtown Denver.
Marianna started her nonprofit career as a career coach with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before entering the field of advancement. She credits her career coaching experience with her success in actively listening to donors to match their philanthropic interests to complimentary missions.
Marianna’s personal philanthropy and community involvement supports higher education, conservation and animal welfare organizations, anti-human trafficking work, and children’s issues.
Marianna holds a Masters degree in Higher Education Administration from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.
Currently residing in the Chicagoland area, when Marianna is not matching candidates with their dream job, she can be found on a family walk with her son, husband, beagle, and lab, immersed in a book, or volunteering locally.
